Kevin Murray Associates are holding a series of public consultations in relation to the proposed residential development at Erskine waterfront, on behalf of Cosmopolitan Hotels.

We are, of course, disappointed that the development continues to be fought for, despite the proposal being denied on two previous occasions - thanks in large part to the efforts of CC members.

That being said, we understand the demand and need to develop Erskine, but it should be carried out in a way that is both sustainable and contributive to the overall community. Erskine requires services and infrastructure to support its existing residents. Prior to planning being granted, consideration must be given to how this development will be catered for by our already struggling GPs, diminishing public transport and at capacity schools. Robust forward planning and a real commitment to improvement of services in Erskine is required by Renfrewshire Council if planning is granted.

If property developers are insistent, then they, and Renfrewshire Council, should be aware of this and the concerns of residents. On this basis we recommend interested parties to attend the public drop-in event to voice any objections or ideas they may have.
